Trust in the Lord with all Your Heart - Literally!
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

In July, I visited my cardiologist for an annual check-up. He called me back a few days later to share the results of my echocardiogram. My condition of mitral valve prolapse had begun to worsen and my doctor felt it was time to intervene.
After my visit with the cardiologist, I began to do research to find the best surgeons in my area who could perform this procedure in a minimally invasive fashion. Over the course of about one month I was able to visit three different surgeons and believe God has directed me to one of the best surgeons in the entire country to perform a mitral valve repair. My scheduled surgery date is Tuesday, September 16th.
At the beginning of this year, one of the reoccurring verses that seemed to “pop” up for me wherever I went was Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” I had various people who did not know each other encourage me with this scripture well before I knew anything about my upcoming heart procedure. I went to a retreat center a few weeks back and on the door of my room was a plaque with this verse quoted. (See above.) Most doors did not even have a verse, let alone have this one!
God has truly been paving the way for me and through the many prayers of friends and family members has directed my path on this journey. I have prayed and been prayed for by various people for a supernatural healing, but so far it has not manifested. So I’m trusting God to heal me through the hands of a skilled surgeon and to make my recovery quick and my return back to life in God even stronger yet.
Thankfully throughout this entire process and ordeal I have had complete peace. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3) I have not lost a wink of sleep. I have been able to crack jokes (especially about the current costs of my healthcare). I have been living out of a place of victory and not allowed myself to fall into a victim mentality. All praise, glory and honor be to God!
My question for you to consider is simply this, “Do you trust God with all your heart and your life?” Every day we make choices of whether we will trust God with everything from the minute details of life to the important and even life altering decisions. Be assured of this, when you make the decision to trust God instead of walking in fear, worry, doubt and unbelief, you will reap the benefits of greater joy and peace regardless of the outcomes and turnouts. (Romans 15:13)
So what will you choose? As for me, I've decided to choose trust!
